There are professional encounters that stay with you. Not because of an imposing budget. Not because of a major client. But because a story truly deserved to be told.

That is exactly what I felt the day Kathy Laurain, optician and owner of Optique Pelus in Neuves-Maisons, contacted me for a unique milestone: the 60th anniversary of her shop.

Sixty years. A story of family, neighbourhood and trust built up over generations. A story that deserved to be showcased.

Optique Pelus: 60 years of human history in Neuves-Maisons

Neuves-Maisons, 54230 — a commune in Meurthe-et-Moselle where local shops are part of the social fabric. Optique Pelus is more than an optician's shop: it is a meeting place, a place of trust that three generations of customers have known.

At the head of this living space, Kathy Laurain embodies a rare vision in retail: authenticity as strategy. Every customer is a story. Every pair of glasses is an encounter.

The mission: giving a soul to an anniversary

Kathy entrusted me with two missions: creating the official poster for the 60th anniversary and covering the event for a retrospective video. Two formats, two languages — but the same intention: to honour 60 years, to announce the future, and to unite a community around a story.

A poster is the first glance the world takes at a significant moment. It must embody 60 years of history in a single look, invite people to come and strengthen the visual identity of Optique Pelus.

The video had to tell an adventure. Show that behind every pair of glasses sold, there are hands, smiles and decades of commitment.

My process is always the same: listen first, create next. Understand what the client wants to convey before taking out the camera.

22,000 views: when a local video touches the universal

The retrospective video was released. And something happened.

More than 22,000 views on social media. Comments from people who had been customers as children, long-time loyal customers, other opticians who recognised the storytelling. A video that went far beyond the shop.

What these figures prove: a local story, well told, can have a national — even international — impact. The secret is not the budget. It is the intention.

What Kathy says — in her own words

"I asked Rémy to create the poster for my shop's 60th anniversary and to cover the event. I really enjoyed working with him because he took the time to listen and understand my project. The results exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend him."

My response — because this project deserves a public thank you

"Thank you Kathy, this message touches me deeply. The 60 years of Optique Pelus hold a special place for me: it was while working on your poster and your video that I gained the certainty to continue my path as a storyteller. Thank you for your trust."

Two companies, two territories, one shared vision

Kathy is in Neuves-Maisons, in Meurthe-et-Moselle. I am based in Bettembourg, in Luxembourg. A few dozen kilometres apart — but no obstacle. Because what connects Kathy and Artivisio Studio is not geographical proximity. It is a shared conviction: telling a story well is an investment, not an expense.

French and Luxembourg SMEs have everything to gain by working together. The Grand Est region and the Grand Duchy form a naturally interconnected living area. My area of operation goes beyond borders.
